Report on Women's Activity Under Women's Federation

1.0 Introduction
The Women's Federation activity for September was marked by a significant milestone: an official visit and endorsement from the Village Chief. The event successfully built upon previous sessions, demonstrating measurable progress in child health while fostering deeper discussions on family values among a growing number of mothers.
2.0 Official Endorsement by Village Leadership
The event was honored by a visit from the Village Chief, who expressed his profound appreciation for the initiative. He commended Mrs. Lupili for her dedication and sacrifice in traveling from Lusaka to support his community, despite her own health challenges. He stated that he had long awaited such a program and offered his blessings for its continued success and for Mrs. Lupili's well-being.
3.0 First Session: Child Health & Nutrition
The session commenced with an opening prayer by Bertha Tembo.
3.1 Child Weighing Activity:
Total Children Assessed: 143
New Children Registered: 30
Key Outcome: Mrs. Lupili observed significant health improvement in 33 children, indicating the positive impact of the ongoing nutrition program. It was suggested that children over 5 years old may be ready to transition from the supplemental porridge by October.
3.2 Nutrition Demonstration:
- Mrs. Lupili demonstrated a new soya and millet mix porridge.
- The new recipe was met with great enthusiasm. The children enjoyed it, with many noting it was their first time trying such a blend.
- The mothers were pleased by seeing their kids enjoying the porridge.
4.0 Second Session: Maternal Discussion & Support
4.1 Discussion on "True Family Values":
-Topic: "The House" – focusing on the principles of a home, irrespective of economic status.
- Attendance: 107 mothers (including 24 new participants).
- The discussion, read in English by Mrs. Florence Chanda and translated into Nyanja by Mrs. Lupili, was highly engaging, with many mothers contributing.
4.2 Key Contributions from Mothers:
- Mrs. Magret Mwanza: Suggested dedicating a future session exclusively to women's discussions, without combining it with child-focused activities, to allow for deeper dialogue.
- Mrs. Leya Jere: Advocated for encouraging mothers to also utilize government clinic scales for regular child weight monitoring to complement the program's efforts.
- Mrs. Batseba Daka: Highlighted that many homes are suffering due to a lack of education, underscoring the critical importance of the Federation's teachings.
4.3 Childcare During Session:
- The children were entertained with games and activities organized by a 24-year-old youth named Maureen and Pastor Jere, ensuring the mothers could participate fully.
